I have put together a simple list of 5 steps to a stress free wedding. You want your day to be full of joy and excitement, not anxiety and stress. Follow the steps below to ensure this happens.

Step 1 – Choose your celebrant early on.

Appoint your celebrant at least 3 months prior to your wedding ensuring that you comply with the legal requirements of the Marriage Act and that will give you and your celebrant plenty of time to design your perfect ceremony. The ceremony is THE most important part of the wedding day. The sooner the ceremony is completed the more time you will have to focus on the last minute arrangements

Step 2 – Book your venue early.

If you are planning a wedding on the beach or in a park, check with the local Shire or Council as to whether you require a permit.  If you are using a reception venue, you may find that booking your wedding on a Friday or Sunday is less expensive than a Saturday Wedding.  You could also consider having a cocktail reception at home with caterers coming in preparing and serving your drinks and food. If your plans are for an outside location, ALWAYS have a plan B in place to cater for any extreme weather conditions being rain or heat.

Step 3 – Stick to your budget.

We all have budgets, so set a budget at the beginning of the process and try to stick with it. There are many web sites that can help a bride with suggestions on how to keep within her budget and still have the perfect day.

Step 4 – When it comes to accessories, think ahead.

Bridesmaids’ dresses and accessories can be very expensive so many Brides these days are choosing to mix and match colours and styles to suit each bridesmaid and are selecting dresses that can be used later on even if they need to be cut down.

Step 5 – Everyone loves presents, but if you don’t need anything suggest that your guests contribute to something else.

If you have no need for wedding presents suggest to your guests on their invitations that they could contribute towards something else; being your honeymoon, new house, project around the house etc.
